Absolutely FREE screening of the amazing documentary "The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil" Wednesday, February 28th at the Colony Theatre in Raleigh.

This documentary tells the story of the sudden economic collapse of Cuba and the dramatic steps taken by both individual Cubans and the government in dealing with an unexpected and drastic drop in imports of oil, oil based products, food and medicines. It is a story of a country forced to turn away from dependence on external sources of energy and food and to develop internal sustainable systems to meet the energy and nutritional needs of its people.

This so called "artificial" peak oil experienced by Cuba not only gives the world a window into the impact of energy scarcity, but provides a model for reducing energy use, implementing sustainable practices and preparing for the expected global decline in oil production experts have been predicting for decades.

The Colony is located at 5438 Six Forks Road (corner of Six Forks and Millbrook). 847.5677 for more details.

Best,
Denver Hill

see you soon,
kelly
